Passing the Baton

Last Thursday, while I was at work, Katrina and her mum took the girls to see their great auntie, Chris Manning. She turned 98 this year, and she was so excited to hold Kayla. Auntie Chris spent much of her life working for Jesus in the Congo/Zaire/Congo-again/Zaire-redux/Congo-we-mean-it-this-time. She faithfully prays for our family as we prepare to make a similar move overseas in less than three weeks.

Here is a photo from their visit:

On Saturday morning we received the news that Auntie Chris had gone to be with Jesus on Friday night. The funeral service is tomorrow, and all the Shedd girls will be in attendance.

"Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise." - Proverbs 31:31

What a treasured photo! Please extend my sympathies to Katrina's family. When someone like her aunt leaves us, I think of what someone said at the passing of my grandfather. "Heaven is now an even sweeter place."
